Purple seems to be the new color in town these days. In Hollywood, Sandra Bullock, Chloe Sevigny, Fergie and Jane Krakowski have all been spotted at high profile events sporting different purple hues. Violet is known for its royal roots and rock star credibility. The color has been seen on many runways, like those of Tracy Reese and Rachel Roy, and is clearly growing in popularity in the fashion world.  Purple is a color that is not found very often in nature therefore it instantly draws attention to anyone wearing it. Purple is the current go to color for those who want to be seen and make a statement. It is a color of power and has huge impact when chosen to frame the face.

I am embracing the purple! I just had my computer glasses made in one of our brand new Coach frames, color of course~ Purple!

Prevent Blindness America launches it’s “Star Pupils” Campaign. It is the organization’s children’s platform designed to educate parents on children’s vision issues. The campaign will also seek donations to provide disadvantaged children with access to vision care. Parents can visit www.starpupils.org to receive free sight-saving information about their child’s eyes including information on the following categories: Common Eye Problems in Children, Eye Safety and A Family At-Home Vision Test.

We are excited to be offering gourmet coffee at our new coffee bar. Next time you are in for a visit grab a cup of Joe!

A lot of you already know that two of my passions are photography and scrapbooking. One blog that I follow regularly is from Becky Higgins and that is where I found my Healthy Eye Friday Recipe for today! (By the way, if you are into creating memories of your experiences yourself, check out Becky’s Project Life:  http://www.beckyhiggins.com/projectlife/

This recipe is wonderful for the health of the eyes: Walnuts have omega-3 (dry eyes and macular health), Corn gives us a shot of lutein (macular health), and the tomatoes and green are excellent sources of anti-oxidants (overall eye health)!

Thanks Becky for this great recipe!!
